Our Process

Initial Consultation

I begin with a personal consultation to understand your dog’s temperament, health status, and fitness goals.

Trust-Building Session

The first session focuses on acclimating your dog to the slat mill, ensuring they are comfortable and confident.

Customized Exercise Plan

Based on the initial assessment, I design a workout regimen tailored to your dog’s specific needs.

Ongoing Communication

After each session, you’ll receive detailed updates and photos, keeping you engaged in your dog’s fitness journey.

First-Time Clients – What to Expect

Every new dog gets a personalized intro session where I take time to build trust, assess comfort with the equipment, and introduce the slat mill at your dog’s pace. Not all dogs will run during the first session — and that’s okay! My goal is to help them feel safe and confident.

How your first session will go

The first 30-minute session is all about building trust and confidence.

As your Dog Fitness Coach, I'll take time to:

  • Learn your dog's personality and comfort level
  • Identify what motivates your dog (treats, praise, leash movement, or your presence)
  • Observe body language to make sure your pup feels safe

Not all dogs will run during the first session — and that’s okay! I move at your dog’s pace. You’ll get a progress update at the end of your session, complete with a photo and notes.

Understanding Slat Mills

A slat mill is a dog-powered treadmill designed to provide controlled, indoor exercise. Unlike motorized treadmills, slat mills move through the dog’s own movement, allowing them to set their pace. This autonomy ensures a natural and safe workout environment.

It’s important to note that while slat mills are excellent tools for physical conditioning, they are not a replacement for regular outdoor walks. Traditional walks offer essential mental stimulation and socialization opportunities that are vital for a well-rounded canine lifestyle.

Benefits of Slat Mill Training

In addition to the obvious physical health advantages, consistently exercising your dog will yield significant long-term benefits for your beloved companion!
